    Hi Sailors,

    We recently purchased hull #200.

She’s been off the radar for more than 20 years, but aside from a missing engine and some basic woodworking issues she’s in remarkably good shape.

One thing that will need replacement is the steel mainmast step, which has rusted out badly.

Does anyone know the profile name of the mast so I can see if I can find a replacement step for her, preferably made out of aluminum?

Thanks for any help – Chris

I and many others had to cut about 2 1/4″ off the bottom of the mast because of pitting caused by the steel-aluminum interaction.

For that reason, you might want to examine your mast and see if you need a custom step. I had the height built back into the step by a fabricator here in Connecticut.
