    I may be the only owner with the old bronze through hulls, but…

    I got tired of dis-assembling them every year or two, given the contortions you have to go through to reach them, so I pulled all of the plugs and screwed in stainless zerc fittings.

    Now I just go give them a few shots of waterproof grease once in a while and work them a little. it can be done in the water, so you can do it mid season. If one starts to get the least bit stiff, it gets greased.

    The only problem I can think of is that it will be harder to detect leaching of the nickel, with the attendant pink color, but I try to inspect on the hard from outside the boat.
