Just add a can of “water pump lube” from the auto parts store every few
years. That replaces the lubricants, etc that “wear out” in
antifreeze. I went 20 years on the same antifreeze in a truck this
way. The anti-freeze properties of the ethylene glycol just don’t change.

I’ve heard that, too. For what it’s worth, regular green ethylene
glycol is perfectly fine and will last properly for up to 5 years.
I’m not sure how much longer a ‘long life’ antifreeze could last.I know people who have had their boats for a decade without changing
antifreeze. Not that I advocate it, but if you’re going to use the
cheap green stuff or the expensive red stuff and change it every year
or so, you might as well use the cheap green stuff that you know is
compatible with your engine. So ends my two cents.
