We added a 150 amp alternator and had it wired to charge the house batteries, two sets of 6V 220 amp hr golf carts, and the windlass battery, a class 27. The old 60 amp alternator is now dedicated to charging the starting battery, a vary large HD tractor battery. We went all summer without needing to run an equalizing (de-sulfating) cycle until lay up. We did do a lot of motoring this season against head winds going from Maine to New Jersey, but we had similar success last season. We live on the boat all summer for 3 months or so.
