Rodd,
I replaced lifelines & gates last year, as well as all the standing rigging, etc, etc. I bought the hardware from Rigging Only (http://www.riggingonly.com) in Fairhaven, Mass. They seemed to offer the best selection, the lowest prices, and top quality materials. Browse through their web site and you’ll see what I mean. They’re particularly fussy about the source and quality of the wire they sell. They’re also extremely helpful when you have questions.
For lifelines, they’ll provide you with a precise measuring form and then send you the complete, pre-fabbed set ready to install. Mine went on without a hitch. BTW, I opted to eliminate the lower lifelines in the cockpit area. The combing is so high back there that a lifeline seems pointless.
Have fun,
Tor
