I run a yacht brokerage here in Oriental about 30 minutes from New Bern. If you are committed to stay in New Bern your best bet is probably going to be Bridgepoint Marina. My choice would be Northwest Creek about 5 miles out of New Bern. It’s a great facility but they have an ongoing waiting list. The Sheraton used to be everybodys choice but they went to some ungodly rate ($10 a foot?) There is also Blackbeard’s marina, it’s a private club but I’m not sure about live-aboards. There’s also a new marina being built in the Bridgeton area(just across the bridge from New Bern) it’s supposed to be a first class facility but is under construction as we speak, I think they have temporary dockage and showers. I’m sure the Chamber of Commerce in N.B. would have some contact info for you. Consider joining The Neuse Sailing Association. Good group of active cruisers from all over the area. I have the P 424 “MOJO” that I’m resurrecting now at our yard. Good luck with your move..you’ll fall in love with the area and people!
