In the case of the air-x, yes there is a difference between the one costco sells and the one WM Sells.

The ‘marine’ version has coated circuit boards and stainless hardware.

WM is still about $100 higher than you can find elsewhere… BUT, most people really don’t pay full pop at WM.

At least join their little club, that gets you like 5% back. Then for a big ticket item wait for a sale. You can usually find some good coupons for like 10 or even 20% off. If you buy a dinghy or something you can get the ‘new boat owner’ discount which is I think 15% off. And you can combine offers and sometimes really make out. You just have to be patient and be smart about it.

You certainly don’t HAVE to shop there, sometimes it’s nice just to go in and grab something.

If you know somebody with port supply you can get A LOT off.

Anybody else notice the price difference between West Marine and Costco.com on what appear to be similar items?
80 watt Sharp polycrystal panels $799 each at West, $949 at Costco.com for two panels, charge controller and an inverter
AirX wind generator $899 at West, $569 at Costco.com.
Am I missing some special “marine” feature?
