ParticipantHi All,
Did an oil change and whilst at it took a few photo’s of the engine. Poring over the pics I noticed that the heads of three of the four bolts on the one engine mount (the rear one on the right) were missing. Spent three days over two weekends removing and replacing the bolts. For anyone having to go through this job – remove the engine mount and get complete access to the bolts (long story).
The engine saga continues…..
Due to an unprecedented attack by the diesel bug I removed the fuel gauge cover to get access to the tank.
Unfortunately I had to cut a hole in the cockpit floor to provide access to the tank where an inspection hatch will be fitted. Fortunately the cut-out can be replaced, and is hidden under cockpit floorboards.
Although I do use an additive, the dead bugs go to the bottom of the tank. Noticed the black scum at the bottom of the fuel/water filters. One has to be careful where fuel is taken on.
The upside is that the fuel gauge cover on the cockpit floor, once polished, is a lovely golden bronze! Wish the emergency tiller cover was bronze.
Cheers
Dennis

ParticipantNow that you have it out, how difficult would it be to replace the glass, and what would one use? Mine is so scratched I can hardly see through it.
