  Hello.. I have been member of this site for some time. I came close to buying serval P424 or P422 but eventually purchased a P40â¦. I need to replace the Paragon transmissionâ¦ can you point me in the best direction for buying a used oneâ¦ and to check out the discuss on the P424 owners site

  Hi Stephen,
  
  Don’t have much info about the Paragon since I have the Velvet Drive. However when I was looking for parts I found complete transmissions, used and rebuilt plus rebuild kits on eBay for the BW Velvetdrive. I checked and found all the same for the Paragon. Does your transmission need to be replaced or could it be rebuilt? I found complete rebuild kits for $199.

  Thank you for the reply. Was hit by lightning a couple weeks ago. Boat is on the hard in SWFL. I’m in Denver visiting friends working on my to do list for both repairs and refurbish before I head out next season. Stephen. PS it was loud and scary.

  Lightening and you were on board. Bummer and freakout at the same time. Had lightening hit a power pole about 20′ away once, it was like an artillery round went off right next to me.
  
  So what damage on the boat? Have you had time to assess?
