Has anyone tried to remove a mast winch?
The aluminum pad underneath the Genoa winch has corrorded so bad that it actually bent the base of the winch enough to impede the gears from turning. Where the gears are is where the base casting is cut out, so it’s at it’s weakest point. I have temporary solution but the mast pad will have to come off. Soaking it in everything from PB Blaster to vinegar does nothing. I hate to drag out the Sawz-All but….. Also I ave not beeen able to locate a new mast pad.
