You can also get that at Home Depot for probably a whole lot less. Near
the paint, they have a bunch of adhesives.

West Marine has an epoxy stick especially for aluminum . It’s kinda
like taffy, the hardener is in the center, and you just tear off a
piece and then mash it up, in a few minutes it’s hard as a rock and
      sticks like hell to aluminum.

Then after it dries it sands real nicely. I used it like bondo on the
traveller supports and it worked real nice.

JB Weld also makes JB Kwik which is a faster hardening version. JB Weld
is really needs a good overnight to harden to where you can sand it. JB
Weld is also available at Ace Hardware in cans which are much more
      economical than then tubes.

Better yet, see their website: http://www.jbweld.com They also have a marine
      product.

      Aaron,

The 2-part-in-one-stick epoxy you described is also sold in most
hardware stores. (Wanna’ guess where you’re likely to pay the most for
it?) Anyway, I believe epoxy in any guise will do the same thing, and
I’m glad to know it sticks well to aluminum. For your own interest,
you might try out a small package of JB Weld some time. It is also
epoxy, but contains several other ingredients, as well, which make it
especially suitable for use on metals.
