ParticipantI’m shopping for a telescoping whisker pole for my ketch’s 130% genoa. What size (lengths/diameter) whisker
poles are other 424 owners using for this? Any other thoughts on the subject? Thanks,
Tor

ParticipantThanks, Alan. I’m going for a telescoping pole for the sake of easier stowage and handling, but I gather 16′
is going to be about right when the jenny is flown full.I guess everyone else is out sailing.

I have a friend selling a used one that looked to be in good condition. When you find out what you are looking for, let me know and I will check with him.

ParticipantWalter,
Unless someone has a better suggestion for our boats, I’m looking for a telescoping whisker pole, ideally
around 13’/24′ long x 3″/3.5″ dia. tubing. What’s your friend got?Thanks,
Tor

My friend Greg Bowl has one for sale. I just found his number: 617 290 9125.
I have seen it, and it looks to be in good condition. If anyone wants me to look at it as an independent party, I would be happy
to. My number is 617 872 3324. I am checking email only once a week or so.

ParticipantHi Tor,
I just got to my E mails today. I have a 130% genoa. My whisker pole is 13'6″ and 19' extended and is 3 1/2″ dia. I also have a Hood MPS that is 40' across the foot, I haven't flown it with the pole yet.
Good luck
Jack

ParticipantHey Jack,
Thanks for getting back to me on that. I’ve determined my ideal would be a telescoping whisker pole around 13’/24′ long x 3″/3.5″ diameter tubing. What you’ve got fits in with that, so I’m glad to hear it works on your 424. Waiting now to hear about a possible used one for sale, and otherwise in the market until I get one – new or used.
