ModeratorGood Morning Howard
Congrats on your purchase.
I think right now you are the only 422 owner on the list. In the past we have had several folks with 422's. There are many similarities between the two models. I'm sure we all benefit

Welcome Howard!
There’s a wealth of info on this board, I’m sure you’ll find it worthwhile.
Whereabouts are you? Any pictures of your boat?I’m sure you’ve checked out the 424 website and the photo archives there, lots of great ideas there just looking at pictures.

RichCarterParticipantWelcome aboard! I read somewhere that Pearson used the same mold for the hulls on both models. I have a link to the 422 web site, but the site appears to be down. Maybe the site owner lost interest.
I’m sure that you’ll find threads related to machinery of particular interest since Pearson must have used the same engines, transmissions, etc. Under power, I’m sure the boats behave the same way. Under sail, they must be similar too. There’s a lot of information on the site. If you have any specific questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Participantthanks for the welcome. i am on Jeckyll Island Ga. we just closed on the boat and all the pictures i have are of the previous owners stuff. i will get some posted asap. from everything i have been able to find I too think the hull and engines are the same. i look forward to a long and helpful relationship here. i need all the help i can get. this is my third sailboat but the others were catalina’s and the systems on this boat are much more complex. at least more of it.
thanks again.
