I have enjoyed my 424 for now my eighth season. When I bought her I could barely hammer a nail, now I know how to master a torque wrench. My OEM proplock does not work. I have free wheeled for eight seasons. On average we sail 30 miles a weekend. 24 weekends roughly between April and November. No problems with the V Drive.

      FWIW

      Best to all.

They can be adjusted and when in adjustment they work well.

also, check back issues of the list, there’s an outfit that still sells
      brake pads for them.

I replaced the pads and the hose on mine and it works great now. Even
looks kind of ‘trick’ with a braided stainless steel ‘racing’ line to it
      🙂

Hmm… I’m pretty sure the pads on mine are rectangular and not round.

WOW, helpful. Are there two sizes being shown? Which ones do we order if there are two?

Picture seems to show two but the ordering is for one size only. Wassup?

I think there’s an inside and outside pad. I haven’t replaced mine since I remove the unit; no need with a folding prop. I kept the link though because you never know, I might want to put it back on some day.
