SpectatorI know one of you has a vice mounted on a board flipped upside down for storage in the aft hanging locker and I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing so I keep my eye out on vises and other tools.
Anyway, I saw this vise and thought it looked pretty interesting: http://toolmonger.com/2009/06/16/the-shop-fox-parrot-vise/

The Parrot Vise swivels a full 360$B!k(B like most bench vises, but you can also pull it from its base and replace it on its side to hold things vertically. Shop Fox designed the vise so you only need to tighten the jaws to stop the vice from swiveling.
The jaws on the Parrot Vise measure 3-1/2$B!m(B wide by 2-1/8$B!m(B high, and they open to 5$B!m(B. Holes in the jaws allow you to mount custom faces, or you can buy the optional rubber-lined tilting jaws.
You can find a Parrot Vise for $40 to $50.

It’s cool cus it could fold up out of the way a bit, bit I’m not sure I
get it’s purpose. Seems to me you could hold just about anything in the
vertical position that you could horizontally.I know one of you has a vice mounted on a board flipped upside down for
