I have older Lewmar #48ST winches that are in excellent condition…. except for a “flanged spacer ring” (pn 15044627) which is made of plastic and shouldn’t cost much more than a few bucks. The problem is that Lewmar doesn’t have any in stock and they quit making them several years ago.
One guy I spoke with suggested that I have them made.Does anyone have a brilliant idea that will get me out of this mess?

john stevensonParticipantLee,
You might give PYacht a call. They stock some old Lewmar parts. I think the guy you spoke to is right, you'll probably have to get one fabricated. On Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 3:05 PM, Lee Yonkers < ()> wrote:

SpectatorDid they tell you what kind of plastic it’s made from (or if the exact kind matter much)? It might something you could order in a sheet and just it out yourself, but I’m kind of guessing at that one.
You could google for a local Plastics shop. TAP Plastics is a place that has been talked about my local friends, but I’ve not been there for anything yet. They’re a W. Coast chain.

ParticipantMy winch guy said the plastic ring was decorative only and could be left off ( I am talking about a full circumference ring, red, about an eighth of an inch near the bottom of the chrome drum). Mine have been off for four years.
