john stevensonParticipantLee,
I can't help you on the hotels as for most of the last 40 years the Annapolis show has been a local drive for me. This year I'm driving from NC, but staying with friends in Solomons, MD. Sorry, I've taken their only guest bedroom. Before anyone can make a recommendation you need to tell us if you are a Ritz Carlton type of guy or a Super8 kind a guy
Hopefully someone else has made the trip to Annapolis from out of the area and can provide a hotel recommendation. Have you looked at the hotels recommended by the boat show website? That's at least a place to start. Also try hotels.com and other travel websites. If you find a reasonable hotel from the travel sites, I recommend you contact them directly to make your reservation. Usually they give a better discount if they don't have to pay the travel sites a commission.
You may find the hotels in the Annapolis area very pricey, especially this time of year. I assume you will have a car, so hotels 25-30 miles from Annapolis should be considered. Even in sleepy Solomons, 60 miles to the south, most hotels are $100/night. Too many defense contractors in this area.
If you will be driving to the show from your hotel the best option probably is to park at the Naval Academy Stadium and take the shuttle bus to the show. I normally park in Eastport, across Spa Creek from the show, but if you've never been in the area getting there can be more trouble than it's worth. This is part of the Washington, DC gridlock.
If there are a number of owners going to the Thursday show we should arrange for a rendezvous. My friends and I meet before the show opens in the park directly across the street from the show. We have bloodies before the show opens. If i know some of you will be there, I'll ask Rod to bring a larger batch. Otherwise we can meet for lunch. My friends and I normally have lunch on the roof of the local hotel (Sheratan, Hilton, … I don't remember). They have mixed grill up there, normally with a band. It's right above the Pusser's Rum booth (I guess that says a lot about my priorities at the show).
If all else fails we can always join Tor on the Valiant 42. I'm sure he would love the company of a bunch non-buyers.
Then again you can call be on my cell phone at 703-850-6487.
I will be there on Thursday, and likely on Friday as well.

ParticipantLee,
We stay with friends so I won't be much help with hotels.
I do know they book up early and are pricey…
Agree with others that stay 30min away is best and parking at Stadium is best (if you don't know your way around).
We'd be up for ron day viewing with others ….Rick

I found a room at the Double Tree Inn. Two adults, two days (7th and 8th) for $202 including taxes, title and my first born child.
I am about 3 miles from the show. What is the best way to get to the stadium?I would love a face to face meeting with as many of the list members as possible. The only one I’ve met is Tor and that was in Green Cove Springs.

ParticipantI say, lets meet at 2 pm – on the roof top bar above Pussers as John suggested.
or across the street at Pit Beef – by the church across from the Hotel. We have to wear some identafiable clothing or hat – and /or exchange cell numbers.

john stevensonParticipantMy ID is a full head of grey hair and a foot long pony tail. I'll also probably have on an SSCA T-shirt and B-Ball cap.
If we all provide cell phone numbers (mine is somewhere in this thread) the land rendezvous might really happen.
