      HI all,
I have been trying to get more information from Reflectix directly but they seem to not be very responsive. So I figured you guys might have some insight. Does anyone have experience with using this right up against the hull? I was wondering if there needs to be any space between the hull and the insulation. Also, can I place wood right up against the insulation on the interior of the boat or do I need to leave an air gap? I am concerned that the boat hull will sweat and therefore cause some serious mold growth on the insulation when we are down in the tropics.
I asked Reflectix if they had any documents on the use of it on boats and have not seen anything yet. Does anyone have any that they have used as reference?
      Thanks

I’ve used it in my cooler lid but not elsewhere. I think the trick would be to keep air from circulating between the insulation and the hull. If you glue it to the hull and tape the edges there would be no way for moisture to get in there. The inside surface might get mold on the them but that’ts part of owning a boat. Again, try to keep moist air from circulating in places you can’t clean.

      Regards
