I have FOUR compete pump units, P/N 24557. I don’t see that any new owner will need three of these pump units, so I offer two of them to anyone who wants one for the cost of shipping. They retail for some $200. I’m using one myself.
Â
The first P.O. had acquired a large selection of spares—it seems there was a plan to go offshore back when Easy Reach was new. Plans changed and there were so many spares on board when we bought her that we sloughed off on doing a complete inventory beyond raw water pump impellers and accessory belts. I knew there had to be parts to repair the fresh coolant pump. In fact, there were there four units.
Â
Repair is straightforward. Remove the old pump unit and bolt on the new one, paying attention to orient it properly to the stud on the pump housing. The big deal was separating the pump unit from the housing. I had to heat it to melt the old gasket.

ModeratorHI Norris,
Is that the fresh water pump or the raw water pump? If raw water, I want
two, if fresh water, I just bought one from Pete but would take one anyway. Thanks,
Bob

Hi Norris,
We’d be glad to take one off your hands. Let us know what shipping
costs would be to Madison, WI 53705. We’ll get the money to you.Pat and Dave

ParticipantDo you still have the pumps available? Mine just crapped out. Is this for the W58? My boat is a 1980.

ParticipantMy coolant pump is gone. I have two sea water pumps which are the
oversize retro-fit units. I also have the pulley and belts for that set-up.Pete

Yes, I still have them. I got so many responses to my initial offer, I didn’t send out either of them. I had hoped that someone really needed one and decided to wait until I got a an SOS for one. You are the first.
They are for a W58.
I am In evanston, Illinois. The pumps are in New Jersey. I would need to arrange fro my brother-in-law to box them up and ship them–they are already in small boxes with packing material. He has an office with daily UPS pickups. Still, to make the arrangements and get them to Hawaii would take several days. If you can wait, please let met know and I will call him to send on to you.
We’ll need shipping infor, of course, and UPS will not ship to P.O. addresses.
Norris Larson, Easy Reach, #206, on the market.
.PS Once she is sold, I will be available to crew on long passages.

ParticipantAloha Norris:
You are a prince (or perhaps I should say Ali’i). I can certainly wait for the pump as time loses its meaning after being here for a while. The pump can be shipped to:
Daniel Kalinowski
Ke’ehi Marine Center
24 Sand Island Access Road
Honolulu, HI 96819My cell is 404.405.4562
Please let me know how much to reimburse you and where to send the check.
We’re (my son Roman and I) are planning our first short inter island sail to Molokai’i and Maui this fall, when the trades shift. Our plans include a sail to the Big Island next summer (maybe 2 days under the rags) if you might be interested.

Dan and Son,
I will contact my brother-in-law and have him ship the pump to you. For long pasages, I was thinking of seriously off-shore or closer to where I’m at in Illinois, but I will keep your offer in mind. Maybe the wife and I could use our air miles for a trip to the Islands.
