I called Defender and spoke to them about shipping. Online, their shipping charges show up as $237, but when I called them they said their online tool only calculates UPS shipping rates. They looked up the shipping charge for me and it comes to $110 to a loading dock and $160 to my home. This brings the total to $890 for a half-drum of 3/8″ chain vs $966 for the same chain from 1st-chainsupply. I don’t know which company they quoted, but its probably Yellow. I won’t be ordering until spring. I hope the price doesn’t go up by then.

It would be shipped to our loading dock and then I’ll spool it out of the drum to my pickup truck. That will be a bit of a pain, but it will work.
