Never too early to start making plans…..Who is all going to the boat show in Annapolis?
Thought we could make plans to meet for a cocktail.

I’ll be there. I’m working the show this year. Plan to be touring on the
first day, then working somewhere the rest of the show. So my day to meet
during the show would be on Thursday. Otherwise after the show shuts down
      for the evening.

I’d like to go. Any recommendations for a cheap, convenient place to stay?
All of the B&B’s seem to be booked. My wife’s back in Waikiki so I would be there by myself.

Most of the places in and around Annapolis have been booked since last year. Most places close to the show have a 2 or 3 night min.
I usually stay in  Glen Bernie – a suburb of Baltimore and just a 20 minute ride to the show.
Half the price of anything near Annapolis.
Last time I anchored off the Naval Academy for the week……

      John,
What “work” are you doing at the show?

      Alan,
Doing the grunt work of setting up and tearing down the shows, plus taking
tickets and selling stuff during the shows. I’m heading up there in a
little over a week. Hopefully can get a mooring up in Spa Creek.

Alan: how do you get back and forth from Glen Burnie to the show? Looks like cabs are around $35 one way and the bus routes I’ve found are an hour and 15 minutes one way. Renting a car also has the headache of parking.

ah…I’ve always had a car. Parking is not an issue if you rent. There are numerous places to park. One, would be the Naval Academy Stadium where they provide free shuttles to the show. The one I like to use is across the river from the show in Eastport – easy walking distance and is on the grounds of the School/Church on the corner. Small/donation applies Also, is you park in Eastport on the side streets, (must get there early) you can use the water taxi to get to the show.. Get it at the Charthouse Restaurant.

I’ll be at the Yanmar booth on Saturday and Sunday. Might be up there Friday as well but I’m not sure if I’m covering that day or not. Look me up if you are in town. Let me know if you plan to gather for a painkiller.
