hi I bought my 424 in pieces,it needed a new engine right away,I used the yard,I was in,which wasnt the best idea,if you pick your engine,then ask the dealer,I was looking at the turbocharged yanmar,but then one of the 424 in maine said it was underpowered,so i changed to the beta marine 60,which I love,it has been great the only thing the yard didnt do was look at the whole repower,I should of insited on replacing the v drive at the same tiime ,walters who makes the v drive,and makes a longer adjustable shaft,for the new shorter engines. instead my yard cut up my cockpit sole and moved the engine forward all of which could of been avioded.
so ask the beta marine guys and they can pick a iinstaller for you they are based in north carlolina
