OMG, there’s ICE ON THE DECK! And I thought I was wintering in Florida.

Has anyone insulated their mainmast belowdecks. Any suggestions regarding
      insulating material?

      Thanks,

      Tor

      Tor:

      Hope all is well.

My mast below the partners is covered by velour with a Velcro closure. It matches my upholstery in color. It doesn’t prevent the mast from cooling but does prevent it from chilling one as one brushes by.

      Tor,
Haven’t done it myself, but a friend’s boat had the mast wrapped in a foam
backed vinyl sealed with velcro. That boat was built in Sweden so it was a
      standard piece of equipment.
I suspect you could get similar material at an auto or RV parts store.

Almost slipped on the frost on the dock this morning. Even friends down in
Punta Gorda are complaining. Where’s Global Warming when you really need
      it.

hmm… might try using a hot water heater blanket from Lowes/HomeDepot…
vinyl backed insulation on both sides…
