I haven’t received any emails from this forum for 5 days. I
rarely visit the website, preferring to engage by email. Is it
just quiet lately, or is the new system no longer sending email
versions of all forum posts as before?Tor

Quite yes, but still busy here. rebuilding three of the Bomar deck hatches,
new LED all the way around for running lights and some head upgrades.
Can’t believe how much space there really is behind that outboard shower
wall. Tried to give pictures but I give up.

Sorry, Tor, it’s my fault. I’m doing a delivery and don’t have time to
write from all the user’s addresses. 🙂Bob

Many 424 owners have cut access into that great storage space outboard of the shower stall, Ken. Surely there are some old threads about it, with photos. I never did anything fancy in mine – just piled it full of dive gear, etc. – but some have glassed in shelves and made more efficient use of it.
I’m awaiting some hardware for my hardtop bimini project, meanwhile checking off lots of quick fixes around the boat.

Hi Bob,
I don’t understand the phrase, “to write from all the user’s
addresses,” but whatever it is we forgive you. What are you delivering, and where?

Tech joke. To write as if I am all the users you’re used to hearing from.
Weak, I know. It’s a 44 foot power boat from Connecticut to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

No wonder I didn’t get it. 😉
I always wanted to deliver a powerboat up or down the East Coast, but never could get anyone to pay me for it. Fast, comfortable and the owner pays for the fuel. What could be better?
Have fun. Reef early.

Tor, those are exactly the reasons why I’m doing this. In Beaufort now,
hopefully Charleston tonight.Pardon the brevity. I’m typing this on my phone and I hate typing on my
phone.

ParticipantIn 2012 I read about what others had done with the space behind the shower so before I headed out to the Bahamas I bought a storemade inspection door from West M and then cut the hole in the shower (that was scary) and screwed it in. I put a wooden shelf in and there I stow my towels, paper towels, toilet paper and other bulky items that need to stay dry. Wonderful free space. There isn’t much that hasn’t been done by someone on these old girls.
