      Hey all,

I’m wondering what you all have for shower mixing valves. What you’ve bought or what came with the boat and whether or not your happy or sad.

Anybody go with something right out of the box from HD or Lowe’s?

I have the original (I think) two knob mixing valve, mounted vertically, with a threaded male fitting coming out the side where a screw on hose and hand held shower head is attached. The mixing valve is mounted on the outboard bulkhead in the forward corner.. I don’t want to relocate the valve, and I don’t mind the portable hose and shower head right where it is. In other words, I don’t want to redesign the whole shebang, I’m just wondering if anybody found something to simply replace what’s there but won’t burn my ass trying to control the mixing from a recently running engine that is SERIOUSLY HOT.

      Thanks,
      Ken and especially Vicky!

      Ken,
Used a standard mixer valve from Lowe’s or HD, don’t remember which.

Aloha Ken & Vicky:  I reworked the shower by adding a new mixer and handheld shower head.  These were purchased from West and I am very happy with them.  There have been no problems with corrosion since installing them 4+ years ago.  The Admiral is pleased!

I also cut out the back of the stall and installed a watertight door with shelving behind it (lots of space back there).  This is the boat’s linen closet where we store towels and washcloths.

It was a bit tricky installing the shower head bracket. You have to be careful not to drill through the wall above the chart table.

      Hope this helps.

Just a basic single handle control from Lowes. Works great. No more
      scalding.
Kept the old one-button handheld shower sprayer.

Picked up an all plastic mixer, hose and handheld wand with button at RV
      store.
