      Hello Everybody,

I was on ebay the other day and I came across this site in Vancouver that makes flags and that sort of stuff.  There was a Pearson burgee on the web page that she makes for $15.00 Can.

Here's the link if anyone is interested       http://stores.ebay.ca/flag-chick

On the left side click on under STORE PAGES ,  more pennants and burgees.

The shipping is about $3.95 Can. and she can ship a few for that price.

      The email address is     ()

I' m going to order a couple and see what they are like.

I found a Pearson Yacht Owners Association burgee on Lady Leanne. It has the Pearson trident with PYOA on it. I do fly it!

I emailed her today. I was thinking of adding 424 after the logo in white. I think the dark navy background looks good too.For now assume it would be $20 CAN ($19.15 US), but I’ll ask for a discount if there are several of us.

      Anyone else interested?

Regarding the burgee, I googled “custom burgee” and found lots of sources. One of the ideas might be to make a burgee just for the owners group. Any artists out there?

Here are a few of the sites:

Here’s some sample fonts for the numbers. Vote A, B, C, D, or E. We’ll only do one Font.

Quote for the Burgee’s with the Pearson logo and the 424 on it is:
      Small – 12×18 – $20 + Shippping
      Large – 16×24 – $30 + Shippping

I’ll pay her have her ship them to you and you all can pay me.

Send me your Vote on the font, your choice of size and your address.

      My Vote is D.
      I’m getting Large.

      Thanks!

The registration of the trademark is only valid if they are actively using it in the market and since they have been out of business for years, the registration is not active.

I don’t know much. ( I was going to say about trademark law but it says it all as is ) But I don’t think that there is anyone at Pearson that will be there to object to us using the logo. Or is there a Pearson Yacht company still operating?

I noticed that she has some single sided and some double sided flags. Will the Pearson burgee be double sided?
If numbers are added to the flag, it would need to be double sided so the numbers looked right from both sides right?
Interested in two (2) large units … vote for font B if we talking double sided…

      Hello Everybody,

On the attachment below is a picture of the burgee that the Flagchick sent me.  When you blow it up you can see that it is stitched and it looks like the solid body of the P is a piece of fabric sewn on.  I don't know if the 424 would be backwards or not.  You would have to ask her that.  I'm just going to order the original stock one that she has.  Unless there better alternatives.

When I owned a Columbia 8.3 we bought a Columbia burgee that had been made by Prestige Flags.
I visited their site last night and apparently there are at least 3 ways to make a flag/burgee
      (1) appliqued/ cut and stitched
      (2) embroidered
      (3) silk screened
from their pricing, flags can be made to read-wrong and read-right on both sides when letters/numbers are involved

If interested here is their site…
      http://www.prestigeflag.com/index.php
and their PDF that lists some pricing (not cheap) and describes the differences

I wasn't mentioning the dot as a (r) for legal purposes – I couldn't care less.  Just so that the dot either isn't there or it is an (r).  That's all.  There's no purpose for just a dot, if you follow me.

Pearson Marine Group ( http://www.pearsoncomposites.com/ )is still in business but, to the best of my knowledge, they don’t use Pearson’s Trident as a trademark.
I spoke with one of their reps at the Annapolis show and she said Pearson was considering making some boats from the Pearson molds they own. I doubt this has gone very far given the current economic problems.

They are one-sided, but if we want to go double sided the prices are:
      $30 for 12×18″
      $40 for 16×24″

Patrick, Sign me up the large double sided Flag. Thanks for following through on this. Make sure you button up the boat, there is a gullywasher blowing through the Bay Area this week. I can only imagine what’s happening up north.

They are one-sided, but if we want to go double sided the prices are:
      $30 for 12×18″
      $40 for 16×24″

I'll ask her about the 424 being backwards… not sure how I feel about that.

      Hi Patrick,

I'd like a small double sided burgee as well.

      Thanks,

      Bob
