I was just pondering something about my DC system. I have a Marinetec
Ammeter in the panel (I think it’s the one we allmost have).

There’s no shunt anywhere on my boat… how the heck does that work?

      Patrick,
My DC ammeter has a shunt mounted on the back of the meter. Some
ammeters have internal shunts. So hard to tell, but there should be a
      shunt.

A shunt for 120 vac is much smaller than one for 12 vdc for the same power –
remember at 120vac, 20 amps becomes 12vdc almost 200 amps forgetting rms and
power factors. You can see why the different sizes…

One might call it a runt of a shunt.

That would be a bit of a stunt.

To suggest a runt of a shunt is a stunt is rather blunt.

OK, I KNOW where this is leading. Must be the waxing moon. Let’s leave
      the rest to Shakespeare.

      But it’s a good punt…

I’m not being terse. This is from my mobile.

Hmm… with all this time for “poetry” it must be raining on the east coast.
