One more thing on RADAR to make sure I’m not confusing anyone.

All RADAR’s communicate only with their own chartplotter’s andor PC software for actual radar display or radarchart overlay, etc. The way the RADAR communicates with the chartplotter and the software packages is all proprietary and is not related to NMEA 2000.

So, if you want to display RADAR on your PC and your chartplotter when you pick one of them, you’re picking the other three as well.

I wasn't talking about the video – of course you're correct about that, they are all proprietary.  But communications with the VHF for DSC, and with other instruments like, for instance, engine monitors, it's not worth replacing.  I purchased my Raymarine stuff only 2.5 years ago when the 2000 spec wasn't even finished.   Also, there's free software that will use the 0813 with a PC.  There may be for 2000 as well,  but I haven't researched it.

I think that whatever you have now keep, and if you upgrade, like you are, then go for the latest and greatest.
