My battery box was shot. I leaned up against it one afternoon and I could feel the fiberglass crumble. The plywood was almost completely rotten. I cut everything out, ground what was left to create a good surface to attach the new box to, and prepared to install the box. But I have a problem. I have to design a new box and I am not having much success.

Have any of you replaced your battery box and, if so, how did you do it?

      Lee,

I didn’t remove that original Pearson battery box in my boat, but I
stopped using it for batteries 5 years ago. It’s a poor location for
them – high, off to one side and exposed to weather and sea spray every
time you open the hatch lid. This group has already discussed what
batteries we put where, at least once or twice in the past. Maybe this
is your opportunity to move yours to a better location.
