Hello,
I am in the process of changing out my chain plates. I found the opposite…that they were very close, so close that I had the 8 large chain plates all made the same. I will be picking them up this week and starting the work to re-install them this upcoming weekend. I’ll let you know how it goes with the re-install.
Given that they were so close, I found inconceivable that Pearson (or any other manufacturer) would custom make each plate. I suspect that any variance is due to sloppiness rather than precision.
But we’ll see how my theory works out.
