ParticipantHas anyone found a good use for the small but long drawers that are
forward in the starboard cabinet in the v-berth cabin? They seem to be a very inefficient use of space. I am considering
taking them out and putting in a cupboard with pull-out trays. Other
ideas? I was thinking about making a cabinet here for all my parts
boxes (I use Plano series 36xx boxes for all the screws, bolts, etc.
and have 14 of these in total. Instead I am looking at making a rack
for them under the nav station table where I used to store binders of
manuals, but now almost all the manuals have been digitized. Also, btw, as part of the interior rework, I am taking the v-berth
removable insert and making it fixed and then putting a door on the
resultant space underneath and a shelf at the lower station of for the
insert. The pullman berth drawers have been reworked so now there are
four, extra long drawers on stainless sliders with nice easy-to-use
latches yielding about 25% more usable storage space and an extra
compartment under the mattress. The sliding lee bard on the pullman
berth also worked out really nicely. Full article coming soon…Pete

Participantare you kidding me? those drawers are perfect for storing your tube socks rolled out flat .
seriously, they’re useless. if I had another extended cruise planned I would take them out of there. I thought about turning it into 1 large cabinet with shelves. if I could not match the wood, I thought about using the drawer fronts and existing wood as the door to have a faux drawer look .

ParticipantActually, that’s where I kept what little socks and underwear I brought with me for my cruise….
