I know I’ve asked some stupid questions of this group, OK so here’s another one: Does anyone have an idea how hot the engine room might get? I know there are a lot of variables, ventalation and outside temperature for example. I’d like to have a workable number when I ask the battery guy for advise on the battery box location.
Thanks

The engine runs at 190 deg, so I would expect the engine room to get that hot. You can keep it cooler by running the blower, but when you shut the engine down and blower too, I would assume the engine room would heat up.

You might get better cooling of the battery if you put the fresh air duct over the box so it sees the coolest air. If you put the outlet duct over the box, it will always be seeing the hottest air.
I am going to plumb the fresh air through the box lid. I’ll make the lid out of pegboard and that should flush fresh air over the battery and keep it insulated from the heat. Thanks for the idea.
