Hi all,
I have a 1994 Perkins 4-154 in my 1979 Pearson 424. I just had the
terrible experience of having a valve stem break while underway at
2000 RPM. The valve slammed into the piston and created a large dent
in the piston top as well as scoring the head to the point that I will
need a new one. I have been told that the best option is to buy a new
engine, a rebuilt one of course since they don’t make a 4-154 anymore.
I was wondering if anyone out there has a good suggestion. I am in
Grenada…far from the USA and availability of parts and engines, so
my choices here are limited, expensive, and time consuming. Any good
ideas will be highly appreciated.

Does anyone have a Perkins M65 as an engine? If so was it compatible
with the original transmission?
