ModeratorI’m spending my time in the water installing zincs for the winter. Also,
doing some shrink-wrapping. I plan on a road trip south this winter. I’d
like to see as many of my friends as possible on the way!Bob

I was wondering what happened to everyone, too.
Silverheels is in dry-dock for another week or 10 days in Green Cove
Springs, FL. A few more jobs to finish before launching. Aiming to set
sail for the Caribbean – DR, Cuba, wherever – around the first week of
December.Tor

I’m going to Trinidad on Sunday. I’ll stay there one week. Half Moon has been on the hard for 18 months because I broke my pelvis last year. I will assess the situation, clean her and prepare to sail her back to North Carolina next Spring. Anyone in the eastern Caribbean next March??

ParticipantBusy prepping the Atlanta house for sale. For some wild reason, we’re moving lock, stock and barrel to Hawai’i. Looking forward to getting ready for our cruise to Molokai from O’ahu. Hopefully, our old marina in Honolulu will be rebuilt soon as it was wiped out by the tsunami.

ParticipantBe careful about travel to Cuba. Ted sailed to Cuba several times when it was still legal. However, a friend of ours almost lost his Morgan 46 to Customs after returning from Cuba. He ended up keeping the boat but had a $10,000 fine.

We have Belesprit at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. We will be racing in the Regata del Sol al Sol to Isla Mujeres, Mexico again for the 19 time in April.

Very sorry to hear about your friend’s encounter here in The Land of the
Free, while those terrible Cubans continue to welcome everyone with a
smile. As for me, I’m a journalist on assignment from a national
magazine. The Treasury Department can go screw itself. (Sorry, but I get
a little heated when our government presumes to infringe on our
freedom.)Tor

SpectatorI think my reply was lost with this crappy wifi…
Dawn and I are in Puerto Los Cabos http://shiptrak.org/?callsign=w7pea
We’re enjoying a couple of nights of Marina life and boat cleaning
after completing the Baja Ha-Ha and surviving the VERY rolly anchorage
in cabo san lucas. It has been a challenging bit of sailing and
motoring the whole way down with horrible weather in the NW legs and
lighter airs for the ha-ha than our spinnakerless two-handed boat
could rely on sailing exclusively. But the people in the Ha-Ha are
awesome and sooo helpful. Now that we’re in sunny Mexico things are
looking up!Not sure if I mentioned this, but sv Sojourned also did the Ha-Ha.
Scott is a nice guy and on the list, but not very active. I have yet
to board his boat for a proper inspection but hope to do in La Paz and
report back. 😉OK, time to sit around and drink my coffee!
Buen viento y buena mar!
