Need to replace the exhaust elbow this year. Question is do I use permatex on the elbow when screwing in the galvanized exhuast pipe, and do I use permatex when fitting the “L” water injection hose fitting to the exhaust elbow?

      Thanks.

I wouldn’t – I’d use high temperature pipe dope. I forget the name of it,
but it’s silver and it will allow you to remove the fitting years from now
      when it rots again.
