      Pete,

I had to google Fluid Film. Great stuff! I’ve been using
Lanacote, also lanolin-based, but when putting stainless
fasteners into aluminum, such as on mast fittings. This prevents
the two metals from “welding” themselves together, so that you
can remove the fasteners years later as easily as you put them
in. But Lanacote is a stiff, gummy paste. Fluid Film appears to
be a liquid, which would be handier for some applications. Thanks
      for mentioning it.

Lanacote is the only stuff that is actually good to get on your hands –
      very rare in boating!
