I need a straight 6′ length of track identical to the genoa sheet track on our 424’s, i.e., 1-1/4″ wide, it’s
surface standing 1/2″ proud of the surface on which it’s mounted. The track rail flange is 3/16″ thick. Does
anybody have a piece they’d part with, or else know where I can order it, preferably discounted?

FYI, this is to extend the whisker pole track that’s was already mounted on the forward side of my mainmast
when I bought the boat. It’s a bit too short to accommodate the telescoping whisker pole I’m putting on it.

      Hi Tor,

It's a standard track that you can get from Defenders, West Marine (maybe), or many other places.  Sometimes, the track is in two pieces – the top part for the slide and the piece under it.  I've seen them both ways.  But the 1-1/4″ track is pretty standard.

      Tor,
I purchased a couple of 2' sections of track from Garhauer at the boat show for my stay sail track.  I don't remember what they charged me, but it must have not been much for me not to remember it.

Thanks for the suggestion of rope caulk.  More than few ducks must have drowned here in New Bern over the last week, but not a drop through the track fasteners.

      John,

Happy to hear of your success with rope caulk. Half my deck fittings are now bedded with it, some for nearly 3 years now, and none leak so far. Sorry for the ducks, though.

Thanks, Pat. I get some good deals from Port Supply, and they’ll always at least match any other advertised price. So I’m glad to be armed with Garhauer’s $10/ft and appreciate the tip.
