Will you add free delivery to FL?   😉
Kidding of course, but do you have a wild guess how many hours on the set?  I’m driving up the coast in a few weeks and VA would just be a little further up the road.Post generated from Pearson424 Forum using Mail2Forum

Which Honda do you have? I’m looking at the EU2000 or 3000 for supplemental charging and am curious about the noise generated.

I have an EU2000i.  While it is much quieter than a brand X generator from Home Depot or Northern Tools it is not as silent as I had hoped it would be.  Haven’t used it on the water but on land it is easily audible 200-300 ft away.  Not intolerable but certainly noticeable.

I’m happy as hell with my 2000i EU – quiet and charges batteries or heats
water but not both. Can’t hear it below.Bob

Oh don’t get me wrong. I love the Honda.  Just wish it was a tad quieter.  I’m on the hard and with the Honda on the ground it’s very quiet.  Haven’t tried it sitting on the deck.

Ewan,
The EU2000i is surprisingly quiet – for a generator. You might
not choose to sit next to it to read a book, but at a little
distance or belowdecks the noise becomes irrelevant background,
hardly noticeable. I generally set mine on the starboard aft
corner cockpit seat by the shore power plug, where a 2′ cable can
connect it. The cockpit backrests contain the noise aboard my own
boat, so that people aboard a boat anchored nearby, even to
leeward, don’t notice it’s running. (Curses upon the
inconsiderate jerks who set portable generators on their foredeck
or transom swim platform in a populated anchorage, so that it’s
quiet on their own boat but annoying as hell to everyone else in
the harbor.)Tor

Thank you! And thank you for reminder in etiquette.
As others have pointed out, my electric repower is going to limit my range. Rather than going full hybrid, and installing a below-deck generator to begin with, I’m going to take a smaller, more flexible approach to extending my range.
Yeah, pretty annoying when you have to wear noise canceling headphones to get to sleep. Or like me, not sleep at all because I’m listening for something out of the ordinary.
