Not quite that bad, Ken. More like sticker shock. Henderson appears to be mighty proud of their replacement parts, and they package them in groupings that I don’t need. If there is a place to order single items I haven’t found it yet, and even so I expect they’ll be unnecessarily pricey. Hence my query to the forum. For what it’s worth, this is my wish list:
Henderson Mk V pump parts
(2) deck seals (diaphragms)(2) rocker arm nuts
(2) top cover seals (big O-rings)
(2) diaphragm plates
(1) outlet valve
Some are just for spares, and I believe I can get by without any of them if I have to, having scavenged a few pieces from an extra pump I have aboard. I don’t have enough top cover seals (the big O-rings) to go around, but that’s because my big pump didn’t have them in to begin with. However, it wasn’t leaking without them, so maybe they’re not strictly necessary. Or maybe I’ll find them at Ace or Home Depot, they being ordinary (big) O-rings.

An update on my Henderson Mk V’s O-rings, lest someone
is tempted to follow me in my earlier ignorance. I said
that my big (double-action) pump didn’t have them to
begin with and it wasn’t leaking without them. Wrong.
The top cover caps did have them in (and it wasn’t
leaking). I just didn’t see them, black on black, until
now.BTW, I’m coating all the pump’s cleaned and/or new
rubber parts with a film of silicone grease, which I
hope might act as a preservative. Bet you never knew a
sailor could have so much fun on a rainy Saturday.Tor
