Dear Pearson Mail List Friends:-
I am selling my P-424 ketch. It has fresh paint, new sails, a remanufactured
engine, all new line, a fabulous electric autopilot, Furuno radar over a
Furuno moving map at the helm on a Navpod, and repeating below, a new stove
in the galley, a new head forward, a holding tank, masticator pump, great
clean cabins fore and aft, a lovely stereo below decks and in the cockpit, X
M radio, CD-FM-AM radio, VHF Radio with emergency location, Wired for LF
with an LF ham radio and too many other features to list. Comes with an 11
foot top of the line dinghy and a Mercury outboard 9.9 hp, and also an
offshore raft . Bimini, sail covers and a harbor shade. Electric dinghy
winch on the stern raises and lowers the dinghy and motor from the davits.
Not to mention a top of the line grill, all the MOB stuff and most lights
LED, including all of the NAV lights. This boat has had four or five owners
and has been loved by all. And it shows. Previous owners took it to the UK
several times. I have sailed it in BI Sound for 12 years. Comes fully
equipped with pots, pans, dishes, cups, glasses, towels, sheets, pillows,
hand towels, silverware etc. Curious principals call the owner. Lying
Newport RI (10 miles away West in Pt. Judith Pond). Buy some groceries and
sail her away. E Mail the owner.Thatcher A. Stone

ParticipantAloha Thatcher: As we all find out, nothing is forever. I am puzzled by your your hull date and number. I have hull #135, which is titled as a 1980 ketch. You mention hull #128 with a 1982 manufacture date. Is something lost here in the mists of time?

RichCarterParticipantI think the build date is determined at the time the keel is laid whereas the model year is determined by the manufacturer when the boat is put up for sale. I’m not sure it even has to represent a real year much like car models come out in the fall of the previous year. My 1979 424 has a build date of 1978. It may be possible for the two dates to be off by two years.

ParticipantGood luck with your sale Thatcher.
Hull number, model year, and date built can all be determined from the 12
digit Hull Identification Number. See the following link:
