Last call for steering chain, cable sets, and eyebots. I will send off
the orders tonight for all the parts. There is room for one more person to get a chain and two master links
which would bring the price per set down to $39.80.Cable parts sets: are $53 each with shipping if ordered with a chain.
(two 9′ cables 1×19 316 stainless, four heavy duty ss thimbles, four
nicopress sleeves, four ss bull dog clamps)
You will have to swage the nicopress sleeves yourself or get a local
shop to do that for you if you don’t have access to a tool. I can’t
swage them for you since the cable needs to go onto the chain adapters
you have on your old chain.A pair of tensioning eyebolts (probably the weakest link in the system),
are $35.40 including shipping to me and then shipping free to you with
either a chain or chain and cable set.All orders by 6PM EDT please. Also, please confirm your prior orders if
you did not do that in the last 24 hours.I am laying out a bunch of money here so please be prompt in paying. I
am counting on all of you to be reliable in this way. Thanks,
Pete

What a great deal Pete and real nice of you take the lead and your time.,
if I was anywhere back in the states I’d do this. With shipping to Granada
as costly as it is, I have to defer to … If it ain’t broke.Ken

Pete,
So, what’s the final chain contribution now, $47 ea. or $40?

Ken,
These things vary for all of us, of course, but I sometimes get
my daughter to stash non-emergency boat parts like this for
Silverheels, items that are too costly to ship piecemeal. Then
when she or anyone else eventually comes to visit (in Grenada or
wherever) – or a fellow cruiser or their guest is flying in and
willing – they bring it all to me in their luggage. Just be sure
to pre-arm your courier with copies of your boat’s Customs
clearance forms and an official-looking Letter from the Ship’s
Captain (you), so that when they land at the local airport they
can prove they are indeed bringing all that gear to a “Vessel in
Transit,” so it’s duty-free.Wish I were there,
Tor
