Anyone have a spare section of Profurl 42mm classic extrusion? The top
section of mine has some bad erosion on the sail tracks and I have it
down to trim properly (it has always been too long) ahead of new sails
      arriving. The NC42,NC42i, LC42, LC42i, LC42S, LC42Si, C42, and C42 all
use the same extrusion. (I need one of the sections that is not the one
      with the gate).

      Thanks,

      Pete

My rigger mentioned to me last summer that Profurl is no longer providing parts. If you can find a piece you are fortunate.

      Hi Pete,
You could try pyacht.com here in Annapolis, they show it as available.

That’s unhappy news about ProFurl. I’ve long thought
they were one of the good ones. What brand(s) are savvy
      sailors buying these days?

seems there a plenty available for $175 to $250 per section… But I
have found some used ones. I just have a 90 minute round trip car drive
      to go get it.

Make sure that the connections are the same. Can’t speak to profurl, but on harken different generations won’t always fit each other.

Pete, did you find a replacement segment for the top extrusion yet?

I did indeed. Crazy story… I drove 45 minutes to the boat yard where
I had launched my boat to pick up a section from a bloke (English fellow
in fact) who said he had one. It was not even close to what I had and
probably not even made by profurl. But while there I asked the yard
owner for any suggestions and that lead me to a loft which turned out
had a section in their pile of tubing, etc. So we put up the rig on
Saturday only to find that the 5/8″ clevis pins I ordered, though
labeled 5/8″ were actually 3/4″… so the adventure continues. So I
crewed on a racing boat yesterday instead of sailing our boat.

      All the best,

      Pete
