ParticipantI would like to order a snap-it instrument mount that snaps on to the top of the pedestal guard. Does anyone know the diameter of the tubing of the pedestal guard(7/8, 1 inch?).
Also, has anyone used one of these snapit mounts? are they reliable, or do they slide down to one side of the top of the pedestal?

Rodd,
On my boat the (presumably) original pedestal guard, the stainless steel tubing that aches up above the binnacle, is 1″ OD.
Never heard of the mount you mention.

ParticipantTor:
Here is the link to these mounts– some interesting applications and minimal effort to get a good mount right at the helm!

RichCarterParticipantMine are 1″ tubing. I couldn’t find anything ready made that I liked so I fabricated my own instrument mount.

SpectatorI’m not sure if they slide or not, but if they do, I think a wrap of clear Rescue Tape would fix that pretty quickly.
