I removed the fresh coolant pump and am cleaning it up. When the pump was on the block with belts off, it rotated easily with a light hand push. Now that I’ve been working on it, the pulley binds and requires continual pushing to rotate. Does any one know what happened? It appears I may need to consider a rebuild, for which have most of the needed parts.

Can I remove the pulley, P/N 24558 without exposing the internal parts of the pump? The outer part of the pump housing and its bolts are badly corroded and the pulley needs to come off to provide access.

I’ve also issued a belated alert about what I think is the main source of  the extensive corrosion I’ve discovered under the title “Water Injection Elbow Leak.â€

      Norris,
Its probably short money to rebuild one of these things (though I have no
experience with this particular pump). The hard part is pulling the thing
for repair. A good shop should be able to rebuild it for something like
$150..$200. If you can’t find a local shop, let us know. We can recommend
      several.
