Hello All,
Ted and I race to Isla Mujeres, Mexico from St. Petersburg, Florida every year. This will be my 6th time and I think Ted’s 19th or 20th time. He had a Pearson 40 for many years (live aboard for several years) and raced to Cuba, Key West, etc. over the years. This year we still need a couple of crew members. If any 424 owner would be interested we would love to talk with you. Of course, Bel Esprit II races in true cruising class with a crew of six.
The race starts on Friday, April 23rd and we usually arrive in Isla early Tuesday morning. The festivities continue through Saturday, May 1st. We will leave the island mid morning Sunday, May 2nd and take our time coming back fishing, etc. arriving back in St. Petersburg on Friday, May 7th (midday). We need 2 additional crew members to go both ways, or either way. Sometimes crew will fly back and others come down for the parties and for the leisurely trip back. Ted and I stay at a hotel on the island, but sometimes crew members have stayed on the boat at the Marina, which is centrally located. The other two crew members both have owned boats and sailed to the Island many times.
There was a thread recently about some 424 owners wanting blue water experience. This is a fun trip for sure.
Thanks,
Elaine Patton & Ted Riley
