I was looking on the web site and the forum and there’s no FAQ on who made your sails and if you’re happy with them. I was going to send out an email asking that but I figured it was better in the form of a survey.

      http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/55477/pearson-424-sail-inventory

If you don’t mind filling it out, it would help all of us newbies out a lot! I’ll send out the results and put them in a format Pat can post to the web site too.
The basic format is for each common kind of sail (Main, Working Jib, Mizzen, Staysail, Mizzen Staysail, Spinnaker) Who Made, Out of What, When Did you Get it, Comments. If there’s something about that sail I didn’t ask you (like battens for instance) then put it in the comments I’ll pull all that out later.

Thanks in advance or feel free to tell me this is annoying. J

      Hi Patrick,

I'm having a full suit of sails being made just now. I hope to have some of them by the meetup, but for a new mizzen, main, 140% genoa, staysail and 175% asymmetrical it's costing me 6,000 or so. The main and mizzen are full battened, with three and 2 reef points respectively. Also, I'm getting new sail covers in the price. I hope to be able to show them off and give my friend some more work. Somerset Sails (http://www.somersetsails.com). Talk to Martin. He did all my sails on my last boat (Ericson 34) and I was happy as hell with them.

I filled it out. You must make an entry for sails that are not in the inventory. There is no record for a genoa.

Sounds like a good price. I’d like to see them.

I removed the “required answers” that way you can skip sails.
I just lumped jib and genoa together into Working Jib, but I know everyone else might not.

      GREETINGS, ALL:

On the subject of sail inventory, I have two former working sails (main & mizzen) for sale, should anyone be interested. Both have been just this week evaluated as in fair to good condition by Ulmer Sails here in Deltaville; some minor stitching/patching repairs are needed. They are each now folded and boxed by the loft and are ready to be shipped.

424 MAIN: (1c=39.3/ 1f=37.5/ ft=13.9) needs new leech tape, restitching of reed patch. includes sailbag.
      asking $450.00

424 MIZZEN: (1c=23/ 1f-22/ ft=8.5) needs new leech tape. includes sailbag.
asking 200.00 $600 for both, plus shipping

I plan to place the two on consignment at BACON’S’s in Annapolis, but thought I would offer give our group first dibs, should anyone be interested. Should they go to BACON’S I will be asking about 25% more.
CONTACT ME DIRECTLY, if you prefer, at ()
or 540-400-2434, should you have questions or wish more info.

Enjoy the rendezvous! I just wish I could be there to match some names with faces. Have fun & be safe.
      Regards,
      BILL
