I use 100 amp alternators from a place in Marathon Fla
called the Battery Shack. I used them them external 3 stage
regulators. In my current setup, I have 2 regulators mounted and wired
up. The 2nd one acts as a spare. All I have to do it unplug one and plug
it in the spare. Not that I have had any trouble, it just seems easier
than rummaging around in the spares locker to find it and wire it up.
Not sure it’s advisable to go larger than 100 amp units unless you go to a dual belt system due to belt slippage and wear.
