i recently came into some spares for my W58 and I wanted to ask the group for thoughts on the Balmar 621 series alternators. I believe these can be set up to work with an onboard voltage regulator. That is what I want to do so I could use it as a spare if my Ample Power alternator or smart regulator were to fail. Has anyone set up one of these Balmar’s before using the built in regulator. Also, for the Tach, will the A/C tap wire translate to the same RPM as with using the old tack? I think it will be off slightly.

I also picked up 4 injectors, 3 heat exchangers, water pipes that run around the engine, a sherwood raw water pump, thermostat housing and T-stat. Hope my W58 lasts a while longer!!

There are less expensive alternatives to Balmar. Give me a call if you want to consider alternatives.

The tack will work correctly as long as the pulley is the same size.
