Does anyone have a water maker? If so: what kind, what size, where did you put it, are you happy, etc.
Thanks,
Lee

ModeratorHi Lee,
Yes, I was given a Powersurvivor 35 and I had it refurbished at Katadyn. It's installed under the floorboards inboard of the stove. I'll show you when I get there.

ParticipantI installed a Kubota e300 in the aft lazerette I put a CAT HP pump on there that will do about 4.5 gpm. It goes thru a SW2540 membrane. I get 32gph of good water out at 120ppm.
Home brewed of course. it’s not rocket science. Cost so far about 2500.

ModeratorThe Powersurvivor 35 does 3+ gallons an hour at 6 amp/hours. With the shaft generator running under sail, it powers it at 5.5 knots. Otherwise, need the engine or generator…

john stevensonParticipantJack & Particia Tyler went through the multi-step process of deciding to add a watermaker, picking one that met their needs and then installing it. They only considered the commercial products in their process.
