Another option is to add another web site in IIS that used the higher ASP.net and then to assign it the host header of updates.svsarah.com (or whatever). You need to have * subdomain set in DNS for your domain wherever that is (GoDaddy, Register.com, your ISP, etc) but that is an option too and does not require changing the core site.
If that made no sense I’d just setup a twitter account and send out “Hey something was updated” and a link to the page.
Or you could just say hey lazy geeky kid in Seattle why don’t you just go check every once in a while.
